Hibs goalkeeper Matt Macey is on the verge of completing a move to Luton Town which could earn the Easter Road club close to £100,000.

The towering shotstopper is on his way out after 18 months in Leith in which he made 52 appearances including five in the run to the 2021 Scottish Cup Final.

Macey saved a spot kick at Hampden that day and was the club’s established number one last season. But the arrival of veteran former Scotland keeper David Marshall has edged the 27-year-old down the pecking order and he is set to join Luton where he spent a spell on loan from Arsenal in 2017. Record Sport understands the deal, with add-ons, could earn Hibs close to six figures.

Hibs return for pre-season training tomorrow and Marshall, Kevin Dubrawski and David Mitchell will make up Lee Johnson’s goalkeeping department.Marshall is one of six summer signings already and the Hibs boss isn’t finished yet with Aiden McGeady among the targets.
