Dundee United talks with Manchester United about trying to get Dylan Levitt back to Tannadice are at "an advanced stage" after the Premier League giants agreed to sell the Welsh international.

The 21-year-old was a revelation last season while on loan from Old Trafford and voted by Arabs as their Player of the Year.

Levitt returned to Manchester and immediately triggered a new 12-month contract, with the club initially looking at farming the midfielder out on loan once again next term with Derby County reportedly leading the race for a deal before Wayne Rooney 's departure.

However, Levitt is now set to make the move to the Scottish Premiership again this summer, with the Manchester Evening News reporting he could be a Dundee United player before the end of the week.
