Manchester City are ready to complete their first major signing of the transfer window. A deal for Troyes winger Savio could be announced as early as this week after the Blues went through all the red tape required to sign the forward from their fellow City Football Group club.

City have had to satisfy the Premier League that they are paying fair market value, which some industry experts placed at around £40m.

Savio never played for Troyes but found his form for fellow CFG side Girona, enjoying a remarkable campaign last year with nine goals and nine assists to help the Spanish side to third place in La Liga that qualifies them for the Champions League.

The 20-year-old has also worked his way into the Brazil squad and impressed in an underwhelming effort at the Copa America this summer.
