dailyrecord.co.ukhorrific rape of an 83-year-old woman has been cleared of any wrongdoing by police. A major police investigation continues into the serious sexual assault which took place at around 5am on June 25 in Glenrothes.
The pensioner was attacked in her Meldrum Court home after a man dressed in dark clothing forced his way into the property. The shocking incident saw a 36-year-old man arrested a short time later but he has since been released from custody and eliminated from the probe.
Officers are appealing for members of the public who may have been out walking in the area to get in touch and for owners of dash cameras to come forward.
