Man aged in his 40s stabbed in 'targeted' street attack

A man was stabbed in what police have described as a 'targeted' attack on a street. Police patrols in the Breightmet area of Bolton have been stepped up as the man, who is aged in his 40s, remains in hospital.

Greater Manchester Police said he suffered 'non life-threatening injuries that are consistent with a bladed article being used'.

Police were called to New Lane's junction with Padbury Way at 7pm on Sunday night. GMP said the man managed to drive injured to nearby Dorchester Avenue, where paramedics were called.

Police are now hunting two white men believed to be aged between 18 and 21. READ MORE: Dad stabbed trying to protect son as violence erupts in early hours on street In a statement, GMP said: "At around 7pm last night (Sunday 9 October), Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a stabbing on New Lane at the junction with Padbury Way, Breightmet, before the victim drove injured to nearby Dorchester Avenue. "NWAS also attended shortly after where a man in his 40s was taken to hospital and has suffered from non-life-threatening injuries that are consistent with a bladed article being used.
