'Magical' Polar Express Christmas trip to leave from Ayrshire

A trip offering Ayrshire residents a seat on The Polar Express has been arranged for December.Locals can catch a bus down to England for what's being described as a 'magical experience'.The coach, which is leaving Saltcoats, Kilwinning and Irvine leaves on Sunday, December 17.Guests get one night dinner, bed and breakfast at a hotel before getting aboard The Polar Express with Wensleydale Railways for a return trip to York.Families will get to meet characters from the 2004 festive film with lots of fun planned for on board the train.Barrhead Travel in Saltcoats is organising the trip with tickets costing £149 per child and £159 per adult.A statement reads: "Your journey begins just like the 2004 motion picture when The Polar Express will pick you up at Leeming Bar station to take you to the North Pole.

You will get to meet the characters from the film including the conductor, the singing chefs, the hobo and of course the main man himself Father Christmas."You and your family will experience a fun filled theatrical adventure as you make your way to the North Pole.

As the train arrives with the chefs waving, the conductor invites you and the other passengers to climb aboard shouting 'all aboooooard!'.

The excitement on the platform is intense, with guests dressed in pyjamas, you all board the train with the chefs guiding you to your seats."You leave the station and scenes from the film come to life as dancing chefs and waiters arrive to serve cookies and hot chocolate.
