Included in the store openings will be a new 9,000 sq ft food hall store in Largs, North Ayrshire, which is set to open later on this year.Other locations and shopping centres planned between summer and autumn 2023 include Birmingham Bullring, Trafford Centre in Manchester, Leeds White Rose, Liverpool ONE and Lakeside Thurrock.Additionally, the move will also see the retailer plan to open 12 new food halls in communities across the country.M&S has said that each new store has been designed with local families in mind, as it aims to create a "seamless" experience for customers with the larger stores.
The Mirror reports that the five new stores will be relocated to former Debenhams sites and comes under a wider reconstruction of the entire M&S business.
The retail giant has said that it would be reducing its full-line stores by 67 to 180 over the next five financial years, as it looks to focus on food-only outlets in the future.
