Lockerbie man who saved a life launches fundraising campaign for community defibrillator

A Lockerbie man is fundraising to bring a new community defibrillator to the town after helping to save a man’s life.Kenny Henry launched a JustGiving page on Thursday to pay for the medical equipment after Steve Cowie collapsed in the town in February.Crichton Trust staff member Kenny and off-duty nurse Julie Carruthers performed CPR for 20 minutes until an ambulance arrived, twice using a defibrillator from the nearby Lockerbie ice rink.Steve survived and has since had a heart bypass operation.Kenny’s JustGiving page reads: “The reaction since Thursday has been excellent it’s really taken off.“The Lockerbie community and defibrillator saved Steve’s life, and his employers kindly have gifted Lockerbie a new defibrillator which is proudly
