EXCLUSIVE: Legendary Entertainment is moving into the non-scripted world. The company behind Dune and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has hired Michael Bloom as EVP in charge of the new division.
Bloom, who reports to Legendary CEO Joshua Grode, will be in charge of developing and producing documentaries and docuseries.
He previously spent a year at Religion of Sports, the company founded by Tom Brady, Michael Strahan and Gotham Chopra, and spent three years overseeing unscripted series for TNT and TBS, where he was responsible for shows such as James Corden’s Drop the Mic, Snoop Dogg Presents The Joker’s Wild and The Misery Index.
When he left the WarnerMedia-owned cabler, he set up his own production company, Bongo Pictures, which produced shows including Stylish with Jenna Lyons.
