Lanarkshire woman is much more than a mum and deserved Say it With Flowers recipient

Mum-of-two Rie has been awarded this week's 'Say it With Flowers' award for her loving commitment to her family.Rie, who lives in Coltness, is full-time carer for her son Darran who has "profound" mental and physical disabilities.

The 55-year-old was nominated by the Wishaw Press team for the award after we were touched by her story that we reported on last week.

She told Lanarkshire Live : “I was really stressed at the time. "It was raining and I was trying to get Darran in the car and get my granddaughter in her car seat, the nut must have come off without me even noticing."The handles of the chair have a metal bar which goes across to stop the whole thing collapsing and the headrest attaches to the bar.
