Mum could only be 'recognised by toes' after horrific beating at hands of partner

A survivor of domestic violence has shared images of her horrifying injuries, with the hope that it will raise awareness of the agonising reality that many women and men experience daily.

In what is being reported as one of the worst cases of domestic violence that police have seen in 15 years, the awful injuries revealed a level of abuse that left the woman unrecognisable, even to her own daughter.

Just hours before these snaps were originally taken Helen Procter, from Hull, and her family had no reason to suspect that her partner of two years, Daniel Burton, was violent.

The pair had originally met through friends in October 2018, with Helen so taken by Burton, that she thought she had finally met the 'man of her dreams', as reported by Yorkshire Live.The mum had been overjoyed to find such a kind and thoughtful man to take care of her, however, little did she know that beneath the surface, Burton was a monster with a record of previous violence.After dating for over two years, last April they celebrated the reopening of pubs, by heading out for a drink in west Hull.It was the culmination of this night out, that would leave Helen fighting for her life and both psychologically and physically scarred forever.While walking home, monster Burton became increasingly aggressive and dragged Helen inside their home, where he then threw her against the living room wall before kicking her multiple times in the face in a frenzied and sustained attack.Burton’s elderly mother, who he had been caring for at the time, was upstairs when he attack took place, with Helen recalling how she had screamed for her to help before blacking out from her injuries.Following the harrowing assault, Helen and her family have now spoken out and
