Lanarkshire volunteer given Royal seal of approval for seed initiative

An East Kilbride volunteer who planted the seeds of success for a 'Grow Your Own' initiative during lockdown was given the Royal seal of approval.

Robert Gillies was presented with the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2021 by The Duchess of Gloucester at Kensington Palace recently at an event to celebrate 100 years of the Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC).The award recognises a CSSC volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution in a particular year.
