Jury selection in the trial for the decades-old case involving accused killer Sheila Keen Warren was scheduled to start this week after previously being postponed a half-dozen times.

Accused serial killer Billy Chemirmir, who has been convicted of the murders of two elderly women and charged in nearly two dozen others, listened in court this week as the families members of his victims gave impact statements.  Chemirmir was convicted last week in the death of 87-year-old Mary Brooks, who he followed home from a Dallas-area Walmart in January 2018 and murdered.  He had already been convicted in the murder of 81-year-old Lu Thi Harris. An economic adviser for President Biden claimed that Americans will notice a decrease in inflation when tax credits kick in that will allow them to weatherize their home. Asked by CNN Sunday when the Inflation Reduction Act will start bringing down inflation, Biden economic adviser Cecilia Rouse promised a noticeable difference "next year." "For example, there are tax credits for energy to help people weatherize their homes and also bring down other forms of energy costs," Rouse said.

A judge dismissed a female juror accused of flirting with one of the defendants charged in an alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer over COVID-19-era lockdown measures.  Jackson County Judge Thomas Wilson announced Friday that the woman has been removed from the jury, two days after attorneys raised concerns the juror was having too much non-verbal communication with defendant Paul Bellar, the Jackson Citizen Patriot reported.

A South Carolina man broke into his ex-girlfriend's home and stole her mother's cremated remains with the intention to sell them for money to purchase heroin, according to deputies. Jackson Rutland, 19, contacted his ex around 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday to inform her he had taken some of her mother's ashes.The ex was not home at the time, as she had spent the night at a friend's house.

A Minnesota convicted felon is accused of trying to murder his ex-girlfriend while out on bond. Tylynne Lashawn Wilson, 40, allegedly broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend in Minneapolis and fired 12 shots at her on Monday in the presence of their son, according to FOX 9. Minneapolis police officers responded to the incident and found the child next to her mother on the bedroom floor, where she was injured with several gunshot wounds, according to charging documents.

A homeless woman who allegedly robbed a dead man in New York City and has dozens of prior arrests was freed without bail Friday, according to reports.  Geniece Draper, 40, was let go after her arraignment in a Manhattan courtroom, the New York Post reported. She is accused of pickpocketing a wallet from a man last week as he remained under a truck that had crushed him moments earlier.  She is charged with grand and petty larceny for allegedly stealing from 62-year-old Jerome Smith. She was arrested a short time later at a Times Square subway station.

The suspect in the Connecticut ambush that resulted in the deaths of two Bristol Police officers was friends on Facebook with one of the victims.  Nicholas Brutcher's list of friends on the social media platform includes fallen officer Alex Hamzy, who appeared to go by Alex Yzmah on Facebook.  Hamzy, 34, was killed in the line of duty Wednesday night.  Bristol Police Chief Brian Gould said in a news conference that Hamzy, who was raised in the city, graduated from Bristol Eastern High School in 2006. Two robbery suspects were shot and killed by a jewelry store owner during a robbery attempt inside a Florida shopping mall, and two other suspects are being sought, police said.  The robbery occurred at the Magic Mall in Orlando when four suspects robbed a jewelry booth with at least one of them armed, the Orlando Police Department told Fox News. "The store owner shot at the suspects," police said in a statement.

Singer Adam Levine has released his first new song following his cheating scandal, a duet with Colombian singer Maluma entitled "Ojalá." The song, released on Friday, features Levine singing in Spanish. Raleigh, North Carolina, officials held a press conference early Friday after an alleged juvenile gunman shot and killed five people, including an off-duty police officer, and wounded two more. The young gunman opened fire near the Neuse River Greenway area in Raleigh just after 5 p.m., officials previously said.

A Georgia man is behind bars on multiple charges after he allegedly tried to kill twin infants. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, 22-year-old Robert Terrell Dubose Jr., of Rome, is accused of breaking the neck of a 3-month-old girl and trying to smother her twin sister while they were both crying during an Oct. 3 incident.

Actor Anthony Rapp got emotional in a New York courtroom on Wednesday. Rapp testified Wednesday that he decided to publicly reveal a 30-year-old encounter with Kevin Spacey because he knew he wasn’t the only person Spacey had made inappropriate sexual advances on. A woman accused of being a member of the so-called "green goblin gang" that attacked two teenagers on a Manhattan subway train turned herself on Monday and was released Tuesday without bail.  The NYPD said Mariam Issouf, 26, was arrested Monday in connection with the Oct. 2 assault on the northbound N platform at the 42 Street-Times Square subway station.  New York City police released images of four woman who were allegedly part of a group of suspects wearing neon-green bodysuits while attacking two women on a subway train.  (Fox New York ) Two 19-year-old female victims told NYPD officers they were engaged in a verbal dispute with a group of unidentified individuals.

Ohio Republican Senate candidate JD Vance accused Democratic opponent Rep.Timothy Ryan of using "canned" responses and not addressing the substance of the moderators' questions during Monday's debate on "The Story" Tuesday Vance, a venture capitalist whose impoverished upbringing was recently explored in his memoir-turned-Ron Howard film "Hillbilly Elegy", claimed onFox News that Ryan has grown complacent in his 20 years in office. College students organized a protest in response to their university’s nomination of a sole finalist for president of the school.The University of Florida announced on October 6 that Senator Ben Sasse, R-Neb, was unanimously nominated to be the only contender to serve as the 13th president of the public institution.Sasse, who has served the state of Nebraska since 2015, is expected to resign his Senate seat in December and start his new job at the university in February, should the nomination go through.  He was on campus on October 10 for multiple public forums with students, faculty, and staff. Sasse spoke at Emerson Alumni Hall at 2:30 PM during a Q&A session for students.
