John Oliver kicked off Sunday's episode of Last Week Tonight by addressing last week's Democratic National Convention —or, what many in the media took to calling "an unconventional convention" due to its virtual nature and lack of attendees amid the coronavirus pandemic. He then noted that the DNC "spent the week steering hard toward middle of the road."
