Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

To celebrate their first wedding anniversary in 2008, Alex and Steven Gerrard invited OK! into their luxury villa in Portugal.

The couple soaked up the sunshine on loungers, splashed around in their private swimming pool with daughters Lilly-Ella, who was four, and Lexie, who was two, and posed for photographs in their fuchsia pink furnished living room.

At the time, Liverpool midfielder Steven played for England and told OK! the trip to the hideaway, which is near Faro in the Algarve region, was a much-needed break from his busy training schedule. “As soon as I knew how much time I was going to have off, Alex and I sat down and planned what we were going to do,” Steven, now 40, said.
