Hungry swans make repeated visits to Scots pub for food as police escort them back to water

Two hungry swans have been carrying out repeated visits to a busy Scots pub in search of food, with punters ordered to stop feeding them.

They first arrived outside The Auld Brig Wetherspoons pub at Rivergate Shopping Centre, Irvine on Sunday, December 12, 2021 and have been back several times since.

On their first visit the pair were then taken back to the water, across a busy dual carriageway, by the Scottish SPCA, assisted by Police Scotland.

However, the birds soon made their way back to the pub before being returned, this time even further away to Irvine Harbour.There are now reports that they have been seen at the Wetherspoons again.Scottish SPCA inspector Katie McIntyre said: “We were first alerted to the swans on 12 December when
