Manchester United academy graduate Mason Greenwood became the first player in the club's rich and colourful history to reach eight goals in competitive European action before the age of 21 with his excellent finish against Young Boys on Wednesday night.

With less than ten minutes on the clock, the 20-year-old, who was one of 11 changes to the starting line-up, fired an acrobatic effort past Young Boys goalkeeper Guillaume Faivre after connecting with Luke Shaw's cross.

It was an outstanding finish from the youngster and one that offered interim manager Ralf Rangnick with a first insight into what he is capable of, as the German continues to learn what each individual within his squad brings to the table.
