Hospital porter jailed for life after admitting string of child sex offences

Paul Farrell, 55, has been jailed for a minimum term of 18 years after he pleaded guilty to a total of 69 offences against eight victims spanning more than three decades.

Between 1994 and 2020, Farrell worked for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London, where he would befriend the parents of sick children and offer babysitting services.

The prosecution said his crimes amount to at least 500 separate instances of abuse, but that the true figure is “likely to be in the thousands”.
