Heartless yobs have damaged the blue strobe on an ambulance. The private ambulance was discovered damaged on Firs Road, in Sale.

It is used by ambulance technician Luke Hewitt, primarily for private events, but is also used to assist the NHS. Luke has also recently been volunteering as a responder for the NHS during the coronavirus crisis, however will not be able to until the ambulance is fixed.

He said the damage is understood not to have been caused by another vehicle striking it, as the damage has occurred to the side nearest the pavement.

The incident is believed to have happend on Tuesday morning between 2am and 11am. Luke uploaded a picture of the damaged strobe on Facebook and wrote: "I can't even believe I'm having to write this
