Hamilton residents fed up over flooding and traffic issues believed to be caused by nearby new builds

Fed up residents in a Lanarkshire street are calling for action to be taken on flooding problems. Locals living in the Meikle Earnock Road area of Hamilton say they have been promised a better drainage system to alleviate issues caused by a new housing development nearby.

But overflowing water in drains has also caused swamps of excess water in land, leaving a foul smell near people's houses.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Local resident Ellison Dunn told us: “This has only been happening since the new builds started. “The floods that are coming from the farm all the way down is blocking the drains, so we’re having a lot of dirty, filthy water.“The water
