Amanda Holden
Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

Grieving family launch petition demanding stiffer sentences for hit-and-run drivers

The grieving family of a granddad who died after being struck by a car are appealing for the public to add to the 17,000 signatures already on an online petition bidding for stiffer sentences for people who flee the scene of accidents.

Father of 12 and grandfather of six Shakeel Sheikh, 52, died after being hit by a car outside his Altrincham home as he returned from a night out in January, last year.

Chef Daniel Petch, 28, was given a nine-month prison sentence suspended for two years and 300 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to causing the death of Mr Sheikh by careless driving.
