Temperatures have soared to new heights again in Greater Manchester as the region saw its record high temperature broken for the second day running.
Official Met Office records had only just been smashed yesterday (July 18), when the two nearest weather stations to Manchester recorded their highest temperatures to date.
The Met Office's weather station in Rochdale saw a maximum temperature of 34.5C yesterday, while in Rostherne - between Knutsford and Altrincham - the mercury hit 35.1C.
Now, in provisional figures, the Met Office says those records have been broken - less than 24 hours after they were set. The Rochdale weather station saw a top temperature today (Tuesday) of 37.2C, while in Rostherne the temperature hit 37.7C.
