Sony’s $100M sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife— Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire— is looking at an opening at $45M, give or take.

The previous installment, released during the pandemic in 2021, which was directed by Jason Reitman and produced by the late Ghostbusters filmmaker Ivan Reitman, opened to $44M and legged out to $129M domestic.

Currently through four movies the Ghostbusters franchise stands at $945.2M; the fifth title will easily put the brand past the $1 billion mark if not this weekend, shortly thereafter.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is playing at 4,300 theaters and will have all the PLFs and a majority of the Imax screens (some will still be playing Dune: Part Two).

Selena Gomez Is Bringing Back Pinup-Girl Style in a Polka-Dot Halter Dress
is celebrating her boyfriend Benny Blanco’s new cookbook, Open Wide, in her April 30 Instagram post, but I, personally, am just here to celebrate the polka-dot minidress. It’s too early to tell if this marks a return of the pinup-girl style trend of the early 2010s but, you know, fingers crossed.Gomez posted three snapshots of herself celebrating Blanco’s achievement, complete with a picture of herself pretending to eat the book itself (unless, of course it’s really a cake). For the occasion Gomez wore a short black dress with a white polka-dot pattern, a vintage-style halter neck, and gold buttons down the front.
