Irvine's high flats will play host to a full-scale fire simulation tomorrow featuring an army of emergency service workers and volunteers.The training exercise will see firefighters, police and the ambulance service carry out a role playing scenario in and around the disused buildings in Doon Court.More than 60 people — including volunteers — are taking part in the event, organised by the The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.Fire chiefs say members of the public should not to be spooked by the large emergency services presence in the area, with artificial smoke also likely to be visible from a distance.Area commander Ian McMeekin said: “I’d like to remind the public that this is a controlled event, and not to be alarmed by the significant.
