A family have spoken of their heartbreak after a much-loved great grandfather died from coronavirus aged 96 - but will not get the send-off he deserves.
Having survived the Second World War as a young man, Alan Taylor became a well-known figure in Salford after founding a successful crane company and a slipper factory.
His innovative design of the 'swivelling jib' allowed cranes to rotate for the first time and were sold around the world. Toy manufacturer Matchbox even produced a version of the 'Jumbo Taylor' that would have been enjoyed by many British children of a certain age.
