acquired “A Man Called Otto” in what was one of the largest deals ever out of the European Film Market for $60 million, and they’ve already set a release date for it on Christmas Day of this year.

The movie is based on the 2012 Swedish book “A Man Called Ove,” which was translated into 40 languages, sold 7 million copies and spent 77 weeks on the New York Times best-sellers list.

A subsequent movie released in 2015 was nominated for two Oscars, including for Best International Film. It even brought in $3.4 million at the domestic box office as the highest-grossing international film in the U.S.
