Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor Fox Nation is placing a small bet that a higher power can give it a new edge in TV’s never-ending streaming wars.
The subscription-based streaming outlet, part of Fox News Media, will release new seasons of the series “God. Family. Football.” The show, which explores the work of Pastor Denny Duron, a high school coach in Shreveport, Louisiana, previously was distributed through Amazon.
Fox Nation,. plans to re-laounch the program with a eight previously unseen episodes that will appear on Friday nights, starting October 11.
A second season is expected to debut in 2025. Fox Nation aims to use the series to launch a new “Fox Faith” vertical showcasing religious content, says Lauren Petterson, president of the streaming service, in a statement.
