A Forth Valley based children's charity has launched a 'Poverty to Hope Appeal' ahead of winter. Aberlour warned rising poverty levels, increased living costs, the end of the Universal Credit uplift and the impact of the pandemic will have long-term implications for children and families living in some of the most deprived areas of Scotland.
A survey undertaken by the charity found that seven in ten parents are concerned about their children's future chances, 55% are anxious about their children staying up to date at school and 60% are worried about their children's mental health.
It comes as Scottish Government statistics found that one in four children in Scotland are believed to be living in poverty.
