Former Hearts chairman claims SPFL have applied rules 'selectively' and backs relegation legal case

Former Hearts chairman Les Deans feels the Gorgie club have a strong legal case against the SPFL if they are relegated. The prominent Edinburgh lawyer has been a major player in the recent history of the Jambos and was chairman under the ownership of Chris Robinson.

Deans agrees with legal advice obtained by Partick Thistle from QC David Thomson and suggests the club would be selectively ejected rather than moved down a division on sporting merit.

And he believes should the Jambos look to take the matter before the legal system, they would have a "reasonably high" chance of success.He told the Evening News: "I spoke to another senior lawyer who has been a member of the legal profession for 40-odd years.
