Edward Christopher Sheeran, MBE (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (pronounced "plus"), was released in September 2011. It topped the UK and Australian charts, reached number five in the US, and has since been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.
The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.
Callum Beattie reckons Ed Sheeran was faking playing electric guitar live at The Brits - because he claims it wasn't even plugged in.
Salamander Street singer Callum, who plays guitar himself, cast doubt on Ed's performance of Bad Habits and Bring Me The Horizon. He wrote: Don’t mean to grass him up or that but Ed’s guitar wasn’t plugged in last night and he was pretending it was."Ed said his electric performance to open the Brits was his “teenage fantasy” and he went for it underneath a giant pylon at London's 02.After the pyrotechnic-filled set he even held the guitar above his head at the end in true rock-star style.Although there was not a traditional guitar cable attached to the instrument, eagle-eyed watchers could see that there appeared to be a wire and battery pack attached to the instrument - suggesting Ed had gone wireless.Wireless guitar systems incorporate a body pack transmitter (which many guitarists attach to their guitar strap) with a short 1/4" cable that you plug into your guitar as you would a cable. It is possible that Ed was using one of these and it was discretely hidden during his set.Callum's Tweet divided opinion. One person said: "Maybe it was a magic electric guitar that you don't have to plug in."Another added: "I mean wireless pickups are a thing."Someone else suggested: "Bluetooth."Another added in a further post: "Hearing ed sheeran was playing guitar last night.
But his guitar wasn’t plugged in.I dinni know alot about guitars but if that’s true then the guys fooled everyone."What do you think?
