Despite all that Allardyce has achieved in the game, he has often been derided by his critics as a manger who just plays simple, negative and defensive 'hoof' ball.

The 65-year-old has explained that he has always adapted his style of play to the players he had at his disposal and that, if he was ever in charge at City, he would only need to work on the defensive side of their game and keep their attacking.
