Turkish football has finally bowed to pressure with the Super Lig suspended until further notice amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Former Rangers star Daniel Candeias was one of a host of players to retweet Denizlispor defender Olcay Sahan's request for authorities to consider players being forced into action.

The 32-year-old left the Ibrox side for Gençlerbirliği last summer and the Super Lig had been open for business up until Thursday despite the rest of the sporting world shutting its doors.

It comes after former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel quit Trabzonspor earlier this week after he expressed his fears over the growing threat of Covid-19.
