A former Liverpool star has sent a light-hearted message to Erik ten Hag following his appointment as Manchester United manager.
The current Ajax boss was announced as the successor to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford on Thursday. He will join the club at the end of the current campaign and has signed a deal which will last until 2025.
United have the option of adding a further year to his contract should they wish to. Speaking on his appointment, Ten Hag said: "It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United." Speculation is now building as to what his first acts will be as the new boss of United.
