Emmerdale couple split up as devastating betrayal rips marriage apart

Conniving businessman Caleb has been keeping a terrible secret from his wife. Last month, Ruby's estranged mother Helen Fox (Sharon Maughan) tried to contact her, Caleb intervened and paid Helen a visit, where the latter explained that she was dying and wanted to make up with Ruby.
Caleb insisted that if Helen wanted to see Ruby that badly, she could pay him £100k first. The hospital called Ruby to visit her mum but when she arrived the nurse revealed Helen had passed 20 minutes before.
Ruby was distraught that she never reunited with her estranged mum before her death. Fast forward to Wednesday's episode (October 16), Ruby brushed over the subject of death with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) who is grieving the passing of legendary character Zak (Steve Halliwell).
