Eight more people have died in Greater Manchester's hospitals after contracting coronavirus

The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Friday, October 2 is:Nationally, a further 47 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 30,096.Patients were aged between 51 and 97 years old.

All except two (aged 59 and 92) had known underlying health conditions.Date of death ranges from 26 September to 1 October 2020 with the majority being on or after 30 September.Each day the NHS in England publishes the number of deaths recorded by each hospital trust in the last 24-hour period.These are deaths where the person had tested positive for the virus or where COVID-19 was mentioned on their death.
