East Ayrshire Council to consider 'making do' – in order to avoid financial pain ahead of anticipated inflation rises.The Kilmarnock North member made the suggestion at a meeting of the governance and scrutiny committee where head of finance Joe McLachlan outlined the council's approach to borrowing in the current climate.Mr McLachlan said that £60 million of council reserves had been used for projects where they would normally borrow money.He explained: "We are spending money on capital that you would traditionally go and borrow.
