Dundee United face huge bill as spiralling legal costs could force solo challenge to Hearts and Partick Thistle

Hearts and Partick Thistle unless they receive financial assistance.The three clubs have already had to pay out around £50,000 between them to defend themselves in the Court of Session.That case has now been passed on to the Scottish Football Association for arbitration and the three clubs have been warned that the final bill could cost more than £250,000 plus costs if they were to lose or ordered to cover their own legal costs.It means Premiership new boys Dundee United might have to go on their own, especially if Raith and perhaps Cove are unable to meet those potential costs.Hearts and Thistle are arguing that the trio should not be promoted, although they are entitled to be called champions as they sat top of their respective leagues.
