Scottish Premiership players tested positive for COVID-19 last week, as football gears up for its return north of the border.

The new top flight season is scheduled to start on August 1, and teams have been permitted to return to full contact training.

There are strict coronavirus guidelines in place though, with clubs required to test their players at least once a week. In week one of the return to training protocol an unnamed Aberdeen player tested positive, though he is now back in training after subsequent negative tests.

The SPFL and SFA joint response group has confirmed that in the second week of testing no players tested positive, despite the total number of tests increasing from 936 to 1055.
