Dumfries kids have come up with a recipe for success to keep people smiling throughout lockdown. Maya Skachill and her stepbrother Oscar Scott, are baking and delivering their own cupcakes to key workers and others.And Maya’s mum, Sarah Rogerson, says the free offer is going down a treat since they launched the idea a few weeks ago.

Sarah said: “I work at the kids’ school, Georgetown Primary, as a learning support in the nursery although when we go back in August I will be a nursery nurse which I’m excited about. “Anyway, one of the teachers had come up with an idea about the children carrying out acts of kindness.“We wondered what we could do and then came up with the idea to bake cakes and give them out free to people.“The kids choose who.
