Devastated parents claim baby died in disastrous 'horror film' delivery

A heartbroken couple lost their newborn baby after a traumatic forceps delivery that they claim was "like something out of a horror film".

Winter Vernon was born in Ormskirk Hospital on May 10 before she was transferred to Alder Hey Children's Hospital where she tragically died the following day from apparent head injuries.Parents Marisa and Michael Vernon believe the use of forceps in their baby's delivery went disastrously wrong and say they are planning to take legal action.

Marisa, 27, told the Liverpool ECHO : "Our lives were shattered completely. "We're not only having to deal with the devastating loss of our baby but we're also forced to fight to get to the truth and an explanation of what happened to take her away from us."Civil
