Derry Girls star Jamie-Lee O’Donnell is set to star in brand-new prison drama Screw, filmed in Glasgow 's Kelvin Hall studio, where she faced one big challenge on set.

The Northern Irish actress told how she had to ditch her accent to take on the role as trainee prison officer Rose in the Channel 4 series.

Jamie-Lee, 29, worked hard to master her English accent for the six part series which sees her character Rose enter Long Marsh Prison as a 21-year-old trainee.She said: “I tried my best.

I really enjoy doing accents and put my heart and soul into it. Thankfully, people on set responded well.”Viewers will be taken on a journey through the C Wing of a busy men’s prison, a place that’s bursting at the seams with humour, emotional high
