Dennis Ruh will take over as the new boss of Berlin's European Film Market, replacing Matthijs Wouter Knol, who is leaving to join the European Film Academy.
Ruh, currently an executive at film promotion body German Films, will take over his new job on Nov. 1. He will be tasked with overseeing the EFM's first-ever hybrid market, combining a physical event with online screenings and market activities. "With Dennis Ruh, we have gained a well-connected industry expert to head the EFM.
We both see him as a committed and forward-thinking individual, and we’re looking forward to working together," said Berlinale directors Mariette Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian in a joint statement. "The EFM is very well-positioned.
