A date has been set for a full inquest into the death of a teenager in a crash after reportedly failing to stop for police. Devonte Scott, 18, was driving a Ford Fiesta which hit two cars in Stretford on May 16 last year.

A coroner is set to examine the full circumstances surrounding Mr Scott's death in August. Chris Morris, Area Coroner for Greater Manchester South, provisionally listed a five-day inquest for August 8 and said 'consideration' of a jury would be deferred to a later date. Mr Scott was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The Manchester Evening News has already reported police watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) launched an 'extensive' investigation into the crash.
