Dante Polvara joins Aberdeen as Christian Ramirez helps Dons beat competition from across Europe

Aberdeen have announced the signing of American Dante Polvara as Stephen Glass snaps up the highly-rated college star. Polvara, 21, joins the Dons on a two-and-a-half-year deal.The NYCFC academy graduate joins after starring for Georgetown University and winning the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy, a prestigious award handed out to the best player in the college system.

The midfielder signs subject to securing a work visa and Glass told the Aberdeen website : "Dante is a fantastic emerging talent. "He chose to go through the college pathway after emerging from the New York City academy alongside Gio Reyna of Borussia Dortmund and Joe Scally of Borussia Monchengladbach. "He is coming to us at a good age and whilst he could have opted to take the next step in his career in the MLS, we’re delighted he has decided to come to Pittodrie and we look forward to working with Dante to continue his development.
