Cyprus has removed all Covid entry requirements and the mask mandate in most areas. As of June 1, the change means visitors won't need to show proof of vaccination, tests, or Covid recovery certificates.

Neither will people aged six and up have to wear masks - with exception to public transport, hospitals and other medical facilities.

Cyprus is one of the latest countries to axe Covid entry rules, like Greece and Italy - with the latter also dropping its rules today.

The island country in the Mediterranean, which relies on tourism, is now fully open to travellers. However, authorities are still urging mask use among large groups of people, or if people are medically vulnerable or in close contact with someone at high risk. The Cyprus Health Ministry says: "It is recommended to use masks in places where large numbers of people congregate, for people who belong to vulnerable groups of the population and for people who interact with high-risk people."The UK Foreign Office has updated its advice in light of the changes. It says: "As of 1 June 2022, passengers travelling to Cyprus will not be required to present any sort of vaccination or recovery certificate, nor a negative COVID test result."The rule change follows the end of passenger locator forms - the Cyprus Flight Pass - in April.
