A £1m cash injection will go to advance the rebuild of Loch Tay ’s prehistoric visitor attraction, the Scottish Crannog Centre.
The funding, to arrive in this financial year, was announced on Thursday, December 9 by Jenny Gilruth MSP, minister for culture, Europe and international development.
It is part of an overall funding package of £2.3m, and will support the centre in its re-location to a new site, Dalerb, on the north side of the Perthshire loch.
Ms Gilruth said: “The Crannog is a very special place, not just a site of significant archaeological interest. It’s part of our country’s cultural landscape.”Nicholas Grant, Crannog Centre chair of trustees, warmly welcomed the investment initiative from the Scottish Government.He said:
