Gordon, who returned to Hearts this summer, was at Tynecastle for the beginning of the Romanov era, and along with Paul Hartley and Steven Pressley was part of the 'Riccarton Three' who issued a scathing statement about the ownership in 2007.
Tensions were clearly high between the squad and the board, and Gordon has revealed that Eduard Malofeyev, who had a caretaker spell in charge, once suspected him of deliberately conceding a goal against Rangers.
