Council say they are on track to finish 'leaking tombs' investigations at Ayr Cemetery

Council chiefs insist they are on track to complete a probe into ‘leaking tombs’ at Ayr Cemetery. Investigation work is continuing at the eastern side of the site with dozens of graves under inspection.Below ground graves are being delicately checked using cameras to search for suspected 'water ingress'.Mourners were told earlier this month that they would be unable to visit loved ones' graves at the cemetery whilst the work takes place.

This week, Ayrshire Live was contacted by concerned families who worried the probe will last longer than the three weeks originally stated.
