Coronation Street's Peter Barlow star Chris Gascoyne's first role since exit revealed with more soap stars

There was an end of an era in the ITV soap on Boxing Day as Peter and wife Carla Connor called it quits, bringing to an end one of soap fans' most-loved relationships.
It then led to the exit of the actor who had earlier confirmed he would be leaving the long-running show after 23 years. Chris first appeared as Peter in 2000 during Corrie's 40th anniversary live episode.
He then left the role in 2003 and returned in 2007 for a brief stint before returning full-time in 2008. In January 2014 it was confirmed that Chris would be leaving once again, but the following year he reprised the role for two episodes for the funeral of Deirdre Barlow, played by Anne Kirkbride.
