Claire Sweeney forced to sell Spanish villa after only earning £5k last year

Claire Sweeney has revealed she earned £5,000 last year forcing her to live off of the savings from her sold Spanish villa.The actress was hit hard financially due to the pandemic after her industry was “decimated” she said as she discussed the difficult decisions she had to make in order to save up.

Speaking on her period of money woes, Claire confirmed that during that time she had received “under £5,000” worth of pay and resorted to using the money from her sold villa for her and her family to live on.

You can sign up at the top of the page. “Our industry was decimated.Thankfully I'd sold a house in Spain, in 2019, so I was blessed that I could sit it out comfortably,” the ex Strictly contestant told The Sunday Times. "It was a big house in Mallorca that I'd bought in 2004 for €690,000." Claire gained fame and success in her acting career after she starred in Brookside, playing the role of Lindsey Corkhill from 1991 up until 2003.

Now a single mum to six year old son Jaxon, the 50 year old explained that the main reason she sold her Spanish villa back in 2019 was because it was on separate grounds and her son wanted to be near other children. "I sold it for €950,000, but I had to pay Spanish taxes and English taxes,” Claire continued as she said she got back "more or less what I'd put into it".
